Just read the rumors over at Digital Spy for the fourth series finale of Doctor Who. 
So many people are not going to be happy.  Save for those that want a McGann appearance, if it's true.

I'm the first to admit that I'm not "in touch" with the rest of fandom. But I'm confused, I thought most people wanted to see a crossover with the 8th Doctor?

Actually, I'd love to see a story where Ten & Donna somehow get mixed up with the Time War and we can see how Eight regenerated into Nine.

Which is why I said, "So many people are not going to be happy. Save for those that want a McGann appearance, if it's true."

According to the rumors, the Doctor's part in the Time War and the sacrifices he had to make are also going to be part of the story. The one thing that will upset the Big Finish fans that if the rumors are true, all of McGann's stories for Big Finish will be wiped from canon. (I know, I know, everyone hates that word.)

The way I read your statement, the people who want a McGann appearance are in the minority. That's what I was surprised about... I would have thought they'd be in the majority.

But now I see what you mean about people being upset that a lot of the existing 8th Doctor stories could be invalidated. Since I've not listened to/read any of them, it doesn't really affect me.

Yeah, see on the one hand, geek orgasm that McGann gets a shot on the show, but as a fan of the audio series and someone who followed it, it's disappointing to find it could be wiped from canon.

This was linked at one of the Doctor Who communities here on LJ. Apparently the poster of that write up was a banned user at the forums and cobbled it together from a batch of rumors. The general consensus is it's just that: rumor.

While I'd be keen on seeing McGann reprise his role, a lot of the rest seems a little "Fan Ficcie". I'll take it with a grain of salt until something with more legs comes along. Just my opinion. YMMV.
