Friday Five at Five (repeat)

Friday Five at Five

I'm digging back into the archives and pulling one of the early ones this week.  Sorry, I got a little behind in my things to do and this fell by the wayside.  On the bright side, there will finally be a new Anything and Everything Drewshi - the Internet Show this weekend.

Friday Five at Five (repeat)

I'm feeling oogie at the moment and don't have it in me to cobble together a new Friday Five, but I want to keep it up this time around, so here's a repeat, one of my favorites.  It will be new to many in any event.  Have a great weekend.

The Triumphant Return of the Friday Five at Five!

Yes, a new year means resolutions and one resolution I have made is to get myself doing this again.  I love doing it, but it's been a matter of finding time to cobble it together.  I'm also going to try to get my Anything and Everything DREWSHI show going too, but I'm going to be more realistic about it.  More to follow.  For now, enjoy

Friday Five at Five

I know I've been bad about posting, but it wouldn't be Friday with the Five.  I do have one word of warning though - Ozzy.

Friday Five at Five - Back to School Edition

Here we go.  It's all new this week with five songs, some suggested by you, all having to do with school.  Next week, we'll get back to our regularly scheduled program so you have a week to make some new suggestions.

Friday Five at Five - Star Trek Edition

Brain fart.  I forgot that today was the 40th anniversary of Trek's premiere on the NBC network.  To celebrate, I'm reposting the Five at Five Trek Edition from a few weeks back.  I'll get the Return to School edition up next week.  You know, it's very disturbing how many songs have been written regarding a student's infatuation with his/her teacher.  Yuck.  It's not stopping me from including a couple of them, but yuck.

Friday Five at Five - 70s Labor Day Edition

Well, here we go.  I can say those of you who made requests got them in and I've added a few others to the mix.  It should be fun.  Now, nobody got last week's mystery Five at Five.  All five songs were in the first five episodes of Doctor Who Confidential.  Next week, the Return to School edition of the Five.  Get those requests in.

This weekend's Anything & Everything Drewshi should prove interesting as I try to capture some of the sounds of a little BBQ I'm having on Sunday with potential guests [info]popfiend, [info]jafinnola, and the Lipchick.

Friday Five at Five - Mystery Edition

Here we go.  The five songs have something in common.  Can you figure it out?  There's plenty of time to get in your requests for next weekend's Labor Day 70's edition and the school edition the following week.

Friday Five at Five - 80's Edition

All right, I worked in the requests I got and put a few others in myself. I'm in a extremely nostalgic mood what with there being less than two months before my 20th high school reunion.

Friday Five at Five - 80's Edition

Just so you know, I am planning special editions for the next few weeks.

August 25 - Mystery Edition
- I don't need any requests this week as I'm putting the songs together and you have to tell me what they have in common.

Sept 1 - Labor Day Weekend Edition
- It's a tradition in America to have a countdown of the best in rock music on many of our radio stations and they mostly feature music from the 70's when rock was at its best.  I don't have time to tabulate scores for a countdown so I'll make it simple.  It's a 70's theme weekend, which is just a weak excuse for me to play more ELO if I don't get any requests.  And no Stairway to Heaven.

Sept 8 - Back to School Edition
- Songs about school.

Friday Five at Five - Country Edition

I've had requests for more country music and it's always after I get the Five edited.  So, this week, I'm dedicated this episode just to country music.  I hope you'll like the selections.  I tried to keep them upbeat and ones that people would recognize.  This doesn't mean I won't take future requests, so keep that in mind.

For next week, I'd like to do an 80's edition.  I've been in a very retro mood as I continue to plug away at the reunion.  So, think about any 80's songs you'd like to hear and get those requests in.

Friday Five at Five

I'm posting a little early today as Sue will be on the computer most of the day working from home.

"Hi honey!  Make sure you listen!"

Anyway, once again taking a cue from [info]psiqueue, this edition of the Friday Five carries the theme of mind altering substances.

Enjoy.

P.S.  Next week will be an all country music edition.  I've picked out some songs, but I'm open to suggestions.

P.P.S.  or is it P.S.S.?  [info]evansmj, after next week's country music theme, I'll probably do something along the lines of a song parody/silly song edition and include your request.

Friday Five at Five - Star Trek Edition

This week [info]psiqueue put me up to the challenge of a Friday Five at Five featuring musical performances by the captains of the various Trek series.  I couldn't find a thing for Kate Mulgrew or Patrick Stewart, so I fudged a little.

Friday Five at Five - Star Trek Edition

1) William Shatner - Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds
2) William Shatner - To Be or Not To Be (Hamlet)
3) Brent Spiner - Carolina in the Morning
4) Avery Brooks - The Best is Yet to Come
(I know you hate this, [info]kradical, but it's the only thing I could find.  Besides, I like it.  Some day, [info]popfiend and I will attend a convention and do a duet with him as Sisko and me as Vic Fontaine.  I need to slim down first.)
5) Scott Bakula - selections from Man of La Mancha

I'm getting on the stick this time and reminding one and all early to get in requests for the Friday Five at Five.  Hey!  [info]popfiend, master of the musical ditties, I'm expecting to see a request from you.

"New Music" Friday Five at Five

All right, not all the music is actually new. I couldn't work in some of the music I was offered and didn't find other music until it was too late.

This week's contributing artists include:

1) David Honigsberg ( [info]dochyel )- "The Pattern"

Friday Five at Five

All right, tomorrow is going to be a special Friday Five at Five.  I got a request from one of our LJer's to play some of his own music.  It got me thinking and so far I've lined up three songs of the five that are performed by people I either know myself or you may know here on the board.  I need two more.  [info]kradical, is there anyway I can get an mp3 of a Boogie Knights song to add to the list?  And if anyone has a friend who I could add as well, fantastic.

It's a special "New Music" Friday Five at Five kids.  Make sure you're here for it.

Five at Five Friday

Here it is.  It's quite a mix actually, but it only works if you make requests.  Enjoy the weekend.  If you're heading out to a con this weekend, take along the five to keep you company.
