The Chronic Rift Plays Match Game

Keith, Andrea, Orenthal, and Dan Persons are the stars. Julio Angel Ortiz and Ethan Parker are the contestants. I'm your host as we play Match Game.  Despite the early misgivings on the part of most involved, I think it turned out pretty good.  Take a listen and tell me what you think - http://thechronicrift.podomatic.com/.

Have this urge to play Gamma World.  I'm thinking Wastelands of Correu, a continuation of my [info]realm_of_correu  campaign from D&D.

You Don't Know Jack

I didn't know this, but the makers of You Don't Know Jack have an inline game with new weekly episodes they have been offering for over a year. I love this game and have a number of versions.

Swa-weet!

The Price is Right is coming out as a Wii game next month! The only disappointing thing is that it looks like Any Number will not be one of the games you can play.

And by the end of the day, TV Show King will be mine.

Loves me the game shows.

And the Indoctrination Continues...

Eddie and I played our first game of Magic the Gathering today.  We actually played three games.  I've had three sets up cards since my thirtieth birthday when I got them for a gift.  I never found anyone interested in trying them.  We divided two sets and are keeping the third for when either one of us needs to add to a depleting deck.

Eddie needs to work on the idea of strategy.  He doesn't know how to think ahead, but rather how to react to situations.  We played with open hand cards and I walked him through his options.  He's getting the rules down pretty quickly though.

Bastidges!

Well, looks like the folks at Scrabble are winning.  They disabled the Scrabulous game on Facebook.  I understand that they had to, but you know if they were smart, they'd work something out with Facebook and Scrabulous to continue the game under their name.  It got my interest in playing the actual game going again and I play often with Eddie.  I'm looking forward to getting a game together with some local friends soon.

Geek Patrol:  What say you to me bringing the game down to the next gathering and we play as we watch?

Writer's Block: Entering the Game

Are you the kind of person who prefers to enter a game with strategies and codes, or do you like to go into it without any help?

I'd like to think I'm the kind that has a strategy worked out.  Is that always realistic?  No.  One thing is certain though, I hate to lose control of the situation, so there is definitely some sort of strategy in place, no matter how cobbled together it might seem.  I think that's why I prefer to be the GM in role playing games or the host when it comes to running a tv game show type game.

One Cool Thing About Facebook

I got my butt handed to me by James Moran ("The Fires of Pompeii") in Scrabble.  I can't say that anywhere else.

Bingo!

Well, Scrabble, actually.  I just scored the fifty point bonus in a game I'm playing with another person over at Facebook.  It's a small victory for me, because lately I've been suffering from brain farts as I play.  I also have ten games going at the same time.  It also doesn't help that
[info]ineti
swallowed a dictionary as a child and manages to get those fifty point bonuses more than once in a game.  Damn fine player.  We must play at Shore Leave.
